Vital Role of Gayatri Sakti in Human Life

There is no way of glorious success in human life without Sadbuddhi. The support of Gayatri in this form is inevitable for all aspirants of progress and blissful prosperity. There is no path to spiritual evolution, realization of God, or ultimate salvation that does not emanate from the spiritual element of Gayatri Sakti. The Sadhaks or seekers of God should also note that thee is infinity, beyond all perceptions and thoughts. Thou is omnipresent and loves all without any discrimination. No one could have direct reach to thy realization. The subliminal shield of wide separation between the individual self and thy-self could be pierced only by the spiritual force of the enlightened soul. The gamut of the science of spirituality, devotional practices and ascetic endeavors are devised for the sole purpose of arousing this force. Absolute evolution of the Satoguna in the individual-self alone can revoke the hidden spiritual force of the soul and enable its linkage with its divine origin and thy realization. Gayatri Sakti, being the genesis and eternal power of Satoguna is therefore revered as the cosmic impulse of divine conjugation between the soul and the God.
Gayatri Sadhana is the ideal medium for reaching thy realms. Indeed the ultimate realization is attainable only in the sublime core of Gaya tri Sakti. Before entering it, it is only the sentient perception; and beyond it there remains nothing - the subtle senses of the subtle and the astral bodies too get concealed in the absolute void.
Thy devotion and thou realization also attained by the Sadhana, Upasana of Adi Sakti Gayatri and its manifestations in Parvati,-Shiva, Lakshmi-Narayana, Rhadhe-Krishna or Sita-Rama. The devotion of Saraswati, Lakshmi, Kali, Mahamaya, Savitri, Pravati, Sita or Radha is also the Upasana of Gayatri only.
Lord Krishna identifies thyself in the holy Bhagwat Gita as - "Gayatri Chandamaham" (I am immanent in the Gayatri Mantra). Gayatri Mantra is the universal Mantra of the Upasana of God. People might argue otherwise because of their ignorance and prejudices against a particular 'name' (manifestation) of thee, but every spiritually enlightened Sadhak, true devotee of divinity experiences and knows that there is no path isolated (insulated) from the sublime domains of Gayatri that could lead to spiritual illumination, divine attainments and realization of the Brahma.

Worshiping the Motherhood by Gayatri Upasana
Gayatri Upasana is the Upasana of the Viswa-Mata, Deva-Mata, Veda-Mata; it is the devotion of the eternal mother. The deity Gayatri is worshiped in the idol of a Goddess -the divine mother. Mother's love for the child is the most sacred, pure and supreme expression of love. Love experienced in other relationships, howsoever intimate or closed might be is not totally devoid of the influence of selfish attachments and expectations. But mother's love is truly selfless and free from all constraints and perturbations.
Fight from the stage of conceiving a child to raising and training him, she bears a lot and gives what all she has of the welfare of the child; she continuous to bless the child with abundant care and love. Her warm love demands to returns, has not expectations. The saying that "sons could be bad and ungrateful but the mother is never short in her love." Elucidates the limitless grandeur of motherhood. Worshipping God in a mother-form is a salute to the divine nature of motherhood. It also has great psychological benefits. Devotion develops an emotional relationship between the devotee and the deity. Needless to say, the intensity of this intimacy is most deep and natural when the devotee regards the deity as divine mother. The latter also responds accordingly and bestows motherly love upon its child - the devotee. As a child feels most secure and happy in the lap of his mother, the devotee also experiences the same while worshiping the omnipotent divine mother. The immediate psychological impact of this feeling induces soundness in his devotion and liberated the devotee from all tensions, doubts and illusions. When the Sadhak takes shelter in the lap of the Almighty Mother Gayatri and devotes himself, thou too embraces him with equal warmth and endowers the nectar of divine motherly love.
Womanhood is worship-able by men in all its expressions. What a woman gives him as a wife, sister, and mother at least deserves his acknowledgement in terms of amity, affection and respect in the respective relations. The science of psychology reveals that man would have been a cruel, harsh, desperate creature living in the primitive state (of civilization), had he not been fostered by the peerless love and aid of woman. The dry and thirsty land is delighted by the cool lashing of rains and expresses its joy by sprouting fresh greenery. The serene love and sympathy enshowered by woman similarly nurtures and helps excel the potentials of the man. However, the poison of uncontrolled lust, erogeneity and carnal desires often spoils the nectar-like effect that could be generated by healthy cooperation in a couple. The familial and social relations between men and women would have been far more beneficial for mutual welfare and progress had the purity of thoughts and affectionate emotions been insulated from the insidious sensuous passions. The toxic of licentious attitude and eroticism converts the nectar-fruit (of fulfilling relationship) into a deadly poisonous seed.

Gayatri Sadhana is an excellent spiritual remedy to naturally pacify the untoward passions and mental perversions and to purify the emotional fields. Worshiping Mother Gayatri as Vishwo-Mata - the genesis of motherhood the symbol of pristine womanhood gradually invokes sacred feelings and intrinsic respect for womanhood. The Sadhak's sincere attempts of continence over the sense organs, eliminating mental ailments - especially those driven by concupiscence, and his strive for mental concentration over constructive thoughts succeed effectively with the progress of this spiritual-conditioning. Beastly instincts cannot survive in the heart of a true devotee of motherhood. The Upasana of Gayatri as Viswa- Mata is the supreme experiment to educe this spiritual elevation.

Outdoors on Duty

Not one to get caught in dilemmas, the bandh call on Monday had me trapped for once. Though, to be honest, the desire to bunk office had more to de with the perfect breezy monsoon morning than LK Advani coaxing me to stay put at home. And though the HR guys post thoughts for the day' to act as beacons for the frequent 'dharmasanskarts' of corporate life, theirs is a beatific silence on matters like
Bands bunks'.
If I were to tell the HR guys - only by watching television that said 'rail, road, metro stopped by protesters' to - that I am stuck and can't get to work, would they mark me absent? I am rally dying to get to work, I can plead convincingly, but what to de, the autos won't ply, the buses coast and stop and gosh, I am told somewhere there's been some roughing up ……. circumstances are beyond my control, but that doesn't mean it's an off-day. Does HR have a policy on this? That you mark me absent, all right, but it doesn't get deducted from my leave? Alas, HR's iffy, and the laborer must trudge to work, and so I do albeit armed with Plan B and Plan C.
Plan B is we tie up with colleagues; all try our best to get to work, when we can't note when not if - we might s well meet up at the nearest coffee shop, what? Plan C is we make it to work come what may. Diligently do multiple transports, some waiting, and some walking and make it to work, exhausted and smug; to spend the rest of the day just talking about how we managed to get to work.
But, reality has something else in store. The rains held, as did the traffic. There's riot police managing traffic at an east Delhi crossing - so much efficiency has me foxed - and there are several little groups of red-flag-waving lalas and their chintus walking the edges of the road. Traffic's definitely lean for a Monday morning and ITO - the dreaded crossing that daily demonstrated traffic gnarl-snarl- is a breeze at 9 am. There's police all over; there media all over and traffic's moving smooth and easy. Ah bandh dynamics. Both sides are going to grab credit.
"Total bandh all success" and "Didn't let bandh affect life, managed protesters and traffic very well" are patent responses you can expect from either side. Fact is much of Delhi did stay indoors. But I'd hazard that's not so much in solidarity with any silly bandh call, but more because it has been a lovely day after a long time, and traffic is Delhi's worst nightmare. You simply don't want to take a risk as it were.
To that end, the media rally helps bandhs along. We're told traffic's going to be so bad, you'd best skip life. What nobody really spilled was the protesters' inside-plans. If Nehru Place Gurbaon's choked at 9 in the morning, and ITO's blocked at 12 noon, how about letting us know? After all, there's Brinda Karat at ITO - lady's no bandh gala, she's at it full throttle. Bahadurshah Zafir Marg stretches empty behind her, not because bandh's total but because traffic's been stopped for her speech time. Police must know which leader gets which chowk at what time; they've prepared for it. Why not give us the lowdown too. Advertise next to the call for the bandh, don't fall for the bandh.

But we're the innocents. All drained when traffic stops for about an hour we must head for the nearest coffee shop, "tried couldn't make it". Because you know 'mehengais' hits hard. as for that little matter about the leave, we were on duty, you know, at least emotionally, mentally. One with the workplace and all, no dilemma then on clicking on that OD (outdoor duty) button, then is there?

Hormones in the Human Body

Transplantation of different organs of the human body has now become possible because of the advancement of medical science and technology. However, no progress has yet been made in the field of surgical operations of the hormonal glands. In case of kidney or lung failure, the damaged or diseased organ is replaced and the transplanted organ gives almost a new and healthy life to the patients…; legs, hands or ribs etc. - Lost or damaged due to an accident or disease - can be replaced or given mechanical support to run the chores of the body…. But trying a surgical operation or medical treatment on the hormone secreting (endocrine) glands is dangerous like putting one's hands in fire. In pure anatomical terms, these glands do not seem to play any role and appear as unnecessary 'abscess', which could be cut and removed without any apparent trouble. However, as stated earlier, doing so could invite abnormalities that might prove to be worse than death.
Deeper research into the effects of hormones has reveled that not only the bodily functions but the complex mental reflections and emotions are also associated with the endocrine system. The endocrine glands play a major role in shaping the overall personality of an individual. Graham Hazscrines has indicated these aspects in his work on 'Endocrine Glands and body Adjustments'. He writes that - "Until the recent past, the effects of hormonal secretions were considered to be more intense on the body and only partially associated with mental conditions. However, now these convictions have changed and we have to accept their dominance over the mental activities too".
In his book entitled 'Machinery of the Body', J. Carlson has highlighted, besides the gross effects on sexual desire and reproductive potency, the effects of hormones on the psychological compatibility of married couples. He further writes that the inherent mentality of a child is also based on his hormones, heredity and genetic connections molecular levels. A natural question that arises here is -- "What is the original source of exhilaration or suppression of the specificity of a gene or a pool of genes?" In depth investigations on such issues would show that it is the regulatory machinery of the hormones, which controls the transmission of inherent biological characteristics and behavioral tendencies from one generation to the other and also gives originality to an individual.
Occurrences of phenotypes and tendencies that are different from immediate ancestors are often attributes by the geneticists to the manifestations of the genotypes inherited from hundreds of generations ago. They tend to neglect the fact that the stimulation of specific hormone driven activity can bring drastic changes in any generation.
Professor Dorsap of the Endocrinology Department of the Chicago University has found the juicy secretions from the spleen as of utmost important for proper functioning of the digestive system and the metabolic activities. He describes these secretions as regulators of the healthy functioning of the stomach and the intestines too. According to him, one likes or disliking for different types of foods also depends on the spleen-secretions.

There are many examples where poor people who hardly eat any fatty substances are found to be very bulky; the fat or overweight of many people does not reduce despite abstaining from eating potatoes, rice, sugar and fatty eatables. Such observations indicated that obesity or weight of the body does not necessarily depend on the type of food. Similar facts are seemed in case of the condition of individual organs and subsystems of the body. Even when the structure and physical health of the brain is normal, one's mind might become sick or overexcited or his power of thinking might turn illusive, unreasonable or insane. In such situations, treatment of the gross components of the brain would not serve any purpose; because the organs function like 'puppets' under the regulatory control of the endocrine system. The latter is mainly responsible for efficient or defective functioning of the otherwise healthy faculties of the body and mind. What controls the endocrine system? Every attempt to decipher this enigmatic code leads to a labyrinth of further queries in Endocrinology, Neurochemistry, psychology and related sciences. Recent findings at the interface of Neurosciences and Yoga and Spirituality add entirely new dimension with exciting hopes! Future articles under this column will take us further along this intriguing quest in the amazing world of our 'own' Hormones.

Give Five Gems in Heritage to the Children

Orderliness peace and progress of a society depends on its citizens. The character of the citizens depends on their upbringing and character - formation during their childhood. The upbringing of children cannot be done properly until the parents obtain the proper knowledge about it. To have children is not a matter of good fortune. Only when they become knowledgeable and worthy, then it is a matter of good fortune. Parents leave behind a legacy of wealth, fields, agriculture, gold and silver, money, trade etc for their children. It helps somewhat in carrying on their life, but all these things are irrelevant from the point of view of development of character. When the character is of a low level and the person is in the grip of laziness and procrastination, the heir wastes away the wealth or otherwise Lakshmi (the Goddess of wealth) leaves his abode because she finds him ignorant and disorganized. He can never have peace of mind in his life. Those who want their children to be really happy and their futures bright, it will be proper for them to imbue their children with good qualities. This bestowing of good qualities is possible only for those who themselves have something of their own. Only the rich can leave behind money for their children but only a virtuous person can leave a legacy of developed character for his children.
Children's understanding is undeveloped, they are not able to understand lectures properly but their power of imitation is very strong. They easily learn whatever they see and immediately imitate it.
1. The lesson of toil: If we wish that our children do not become lazy and do not shirk work, then we must put before them the example of toil and involvement in work and just like us, prepare a time-table for them to be involved in some work.
2. Generosity is another virtue. Children usually fight with their brothers and sisters. They indulge in quarrels and grabbing and snatching for items of food and drink, toys or some other things. This habit should never be encouraged, instead they must be taught to share sweets etc with their brothers and sisters and then eat. Nobody can destroy peace and love when there is a policy of forget and forgive, remembering one's duty and forgetting one's right. Generosity is the biggest guarantee for peace in the family
3. Cleanliness and simplicity: Cleanliness is the third virtue. One's things should not be out of place. Clothes, shoes, vessels, books, pen etc are normally thrown here and there by children who immediately forget, and go about their work. They must be taught that only after completing one work another work should be undertaken and untidiness should be despised.
4. Good use of time: Working by a time-table in daily life is an important quality for putting human-life to good use. Most people do not understand the value of time. Enterprise is the other name for the good use of time.

5. Courtesy and gentlemanliness: Politeness, gentlemanliness, courteous conduct, pleasant speech, goodness - these are the qualities by which other people get attracted to us, have compassion for us, become our admirers and become cheerful in our company. The quality of making others our own lies only in honesty and goodness in dealing or conduct with others. In the school that is family, the practice of goodness, gentlemanliness and pleasantness must be taught to the children from childhood only. The elders in the family when talking to the juniors should address them with respect.

Getting Past the Subconscious Mind

So you have stilled your senses and gone beyond your conscious mind into the subconscious. Now what is happening inside your mind?
Everything. Visions, pictures, memories, plans, anxieties. They are flooding your mind in a torrent. You remember everything you did during the day and plan everything you will tomorrow. Your regret auguring with your friend and losing your temper a your mother. You worry about the children, or you wonder when you will get married, and to whom. You picture the new car you wish you had. You plan what you are going to eat as soon as you finish meditation, and you imagine, yourself eating it. You write a letter in your mind. You make your shopping list for tomorrow. You analyze your character and praise your own virtues, and analyze the people you know and criticize their faults.
Then you start to wonder, "What good is this meditation anyway? I'm supposed to get mental peace, but I am thinking more than over before!" Your mind is rattling and churning, and ideas are flying everywhere like popcom popping from the pot when the lid is suddenly removed. The internal activity of the subconscious mind is usually repressed by the intense activity of the conscious mind, which is outwardly directed into the external world, (only people like artists, poets and day-dreamers' are accustomed to giving their subconscious minds full rein).  So when the conscious repression is suddenly released, as in dreaming, the subconscious mind bursts into activity and there you are, sitting there with your head clattering with images and thoughts.
This is why many people find it difficult to perform certain types of meditation that seek merely to "empty the mind" or to " think of nothings/" It is impossible to think of nothing. The mind must always have some object. Even if you think that you are thinking of nothing, you are actually thinking, "Aha! I am finally thinking about nothing!"
Let us make an experiment: please close your eyes for thirty seconds and think about anything you like, except a RED COW.
You just couldn't help it, could you? That big red cow kept coming back into your mind, whatever you tried to do to get rid of it.
And if you tell your mind to think about nothing, it will vengefully erupt in an avalanche of thoughts and feelings.

There must be a better way. And there is. It has been tried and tented for thousands of years - the most efficient and practical process to pierce through the disturbances of th subconscious mind and enter the blissful, super-conscious state. It is called MANTRA - "that which liberated the mind."

Gayatri - The Deity of Bright Prosperity

Apart from harvesting virtuous potentials, inner peace and content and thus enlightening the personal life, Gayatri Sadhana enables prosperous growth of the devotee's social life too. The refinement of body and mind (educed by Gayatri) also adorns the external fronts of life with several boons. Because of his increased awareness and wisdom and prudent self-confidence, the Sadhak finds the same circumstances, the same obstacles as supporting and easily resolvable, which were adverse and challenging earlier.
Changing the circumstances of life at will may not be feasible for every one every time. However, changing one's approach and attitude to face the circumstances positively - is a natural sign of farsighted wisdom, Clash of one's imaginations, expectations and the facts of life is the major cause of distress and struggle in varied forms. Wise men always accept the reality with grace and avoid unnecessary troubles, tussles and tensions as far as possible. This prudence is aroused in the Sadhak of Gayatri and makes the movement of his life straight and smooth.
Happiness and delight are not generated by external means or materialistic possessions. These are indeed the relative reflections of one's own mental status and attitude. The mind, which was not satisfied even by royal accessories, luxuries and power and was thirsty for more and more, the same mind may sometime be inspired by a saintly preaching or inner voice to renounce every thing and begin to feel terrific bless and comfort in sleeping on the earth in a forest, eating raw fruits and roots. This drastic change is simply a consequent of different emotional conditioning and attitude that hold the key to all sorrow and joys.
The Triveni of Gayatri also purifies the trigunas - the three eternal tendencies immanent in Nature. It exalts the Satoguna and thereby induces spiritual illumination. It excels the force of Rajoguna, which awakens the hidden potentials and brightens prosperous progress of life in the physical domains too. Elevated optimism, zeal, sagacity, presence of mind, efficient decision making, beatified voice, graceful personality and many other familiar and rare faculties are evidential manifestation of this effect. The refined Tamoguna educes valor, fearlessness, endurance, chastity and courage to fight against injustice and exploitation, etc and enables the Sadhak march on the altruist path of social welfare.
With gradual progress of his dedicated Sadhana, the devotee of Gayatri subliminally undergoes a marvelous transmutation that consistently fosters the glory and growth of his prosperous and illumined life. Gayatri does not encoder golden coins or nectar; neither does it bestow boons in a magical way. But, it certainly arouses and inspires such physical, mental and spiritual potentials and talents so that under no circumstances a devotee of Gayatri faces any scarcity, fear or suffering. It is indeed a unique source of righteous progress and everlasting glory and prosperity.

Gayatri is Omnipotent Savior
Destiny does bring testing moments in one form or the other sometimes in everybody's life. The stormy winds of the Prarabdha of the sinful Karmas often appear to blow the eddy currents of crisis and ill omen. The attacks of diseases, disputes, monetary losses, threats, tragedies etc seem to compete with each other in augmenting the severity of the bad times. It is said that hardship does not come alone. It brings its children and friends along. Entrapped in the web of misfortunes from all directions, most of us would feel helpless, frightened, depressed and almost dead. Fear, anxiety and agony often suppress our courage and further multiply the strokes of the crisis.
The case of a true devotee of Gayatri is quite different. Destiny appears to favor him in all circumstances. Testing times seem to further sharpen his endurance, forbearance, courage, wisdom and faith in God. He is protected by these virtues that are firmly sown in him by the grace of Gayatri. The inspirations and inner strength blessed by the divine mother Gayatri are like savior boats that enable the Sadhak cross the cyclonic currents of adversities and crisis of all kinds.

Gayatri Sadhana bestows sublime protection, which often appears astonishing. Many a times the devotee is miraculously saved and emancipated from dreaded dangers and crisis. The divine powers aroused in his inner self by Gayatri Sadhana provide angelic support to the devotee. It is experienced that those who control and purify their mind and intellect by Sadhana, who eliminate their jealousy, ego, fury and all beastly tendencies, and cultivate altruist and generous sentiments are always blessed and guarded by thy savior Gayatri Shakti.

Gayatri Prayer

ü  Oh, mother, Gayatri! You are manifested in the  Eternal sound of Om. You are Tripada (hymn comprising of three steps: Tatsaviturvenyam, bhargo devasya dhimahi, dhiyo yonah prachodyat;  vedtriyi (source of three Vedas); revered by three gods - Brahma, Vishni, Mahesh; Creator anf protector of the three worlds (the heavens, earth and nether regions); knower of all the three times (past, present and future); and the ordainer of all the opportunities
ü  You possess all the three gunas (rraits): Satwa, Rajas, and Tamas. You are bestower of the three types of boons: Natural (materialistic), supernatural and spiritual. It is only you who provides salvation. You always see your devotees with compassionate eyes.
ü  You are Goddess of knowledge. You are an embodiment of compassion. In spite of being omnipresent you are holding the entire world in your heart. You are the invincible ultimate authority and more difficult to realize as compared to the realizable Supreme Spirit. You are the pupil of the eye of Lord Shankar, who is the Savior of this world
ü  You are the soul of this world and also a giver of supreme bliss. You are the shelter of the entire world and the ultimate being for its (world's) birth and growth. You are the controller of all the superhuman qualities and powers and also the giver of the same. I humbly salute you.
ü  You are the creator of all the materialistic resources and pleasures. You cannot be described by the grammatical components of Sanskrit. You cannot also be known by (studying) Vedas and Purans or their derivatives. You can only be realized by righteous wisdom attained through dhyan-dharma (meditation), etc,
ü  In spite of being Eternal and knowable by all, you are unattainable (unknowable). You transcend the three Lords Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. You are omnipotent and the energy of the entire world. It is not possible to perceive you by physical senses.
ü  An unfortunate person abandoned by you is deprived of power and prosperity. Even if such a person (in materialistic sense) is higher than Himalayas, he is not respected even by the common people.
ü  Oh, Mother Gayatri! Your divine radiance is present everywhere; in Lords Shiva, Vishnu, Brahma, Sun and Moon, movable - unmovable, visible-invisible, subtler than subtle and greater than great.
ü  Oh mother! I pray that my intellect should hold your lotus feet in my mind (that is , my mind should always remain engrossed in your divine effulgence). Oh Goddess! I am not desirous of any boon other than this.

ü  Naturally, you are always kind to the needy and humble persons. Therefore, I have come to seek your shelter. Kindly accept my offering of love and affection.

Gayatri Anusthan

Inexhaustible Source of Spiritual Energy
The scriptures prescribed that Gayatri should be worshipped thrice daily during "Trikal Sandhaya" in the morning at noon and in the evening. It is all the more beneficial in Jap, worship, meditation and contemplation of Gayatri is done even more intensively. But for specific purposes, when more energy is required to be generated, specific performance which is known as Anusthan is done. When long journey is proposed to be undertaken, special food and adequate money are kept for being used in transit. Anusthan similarly is like journey expenses. When this energy capital is accumulated, Sadhak's journey through life, whether in mundane or spiritual pursuit, becomes easier and smoother.
When a tiger pounces upon a deer or a cat attacks a mouse or a heron attacks a fish, they pause for a moment, stop breathing move back a little, and sharpen all their inner faculties and then charge suddenly on they prey. An athlete in high or long jump, stops for a moment, moves back a little and then leaps up or forward. A wrestler also takes a counter-move and suddenly changes his strategy. A marksman has also to do the same thing before shooting. In Anusthan, same thing has to be done on spiritual level. If any calamity has to be averted or some success achieved it is done by performance of Anusthan.
The baby cries 'ma-ma' and loving conversation between him and his mother goes on throughout the day, but when due to some emergency the child cries loudly and bitterly his mother abandons all work rushes and attends to the child. Anusthan is such an emergency call of Sadhak which has specific force and magnetism in it. The Sadhak, thereby, attracts within him, the extraordinary energy of Gayatri. When human Endeavour fails, there is no way out to avert a crisis. Darkness prevails all-around, the future appears grimly dark, and circumstances become menacingly adverse. In such a plight, it is but natural to become nervous. The intellect of such a worried and dejected person does not work properly. A pigeon caught in a net is entrapped more and more when it flutters to get out of it. On such occasion, the name of God is the only strength. Draupadi, Narsi, Prahlad etc. had to call upon Divine help in a state of utter helplessness. When human efforts fail, the entire situation is changed by divine intervention. The intense dark night of calamity suddenly disappears with out-break of Light and a person is able to see the right path. Anusthan erupts in the heart in the form of light which enlightens the path.
Extraordinary relief is obtained by Gayatri Anusthan in worldly difficulties, mental disturbance and internal restlessness. No doubt, Gayatri does not literally give the Sadhak a golden treasure. But it is also true that by its influence fundamental positive changes take place in human attitude and mentality which make it possible to find appropriate solutions to difficulties. An appropriate intelligence, wisdom and far-sightedness are intuitively revealed to the Sadhak to enable him to surmount the special difficulties and challenges faced by him. Some irrelevant way ward thoughts, desires and craving overpower a person having a confused mind on account of which he remains unhappy for no reason. Gayatri Sadhana cleanses the mind in such a way that things which formerly appeared to be crucially important appear to be insubstantial and trivial. Such internal changes take place by Anusthan on account of which an unhappy, worried and harassed person suddenly finds himself uplifted into a state of peace, harmony and joy.

Jap of 1, 25,000 Mantras is known as Anusthan. There a re certain conditions for a thing to attain maturity. Pulse, vegetables, bricks, glass etc. required to be heated up to a particular temperature. Fruits take their own time to ripen. Eggs need specific time for hatching. A baby takes its due time in mother's womb before birth. Premature action in all such matters results in complications and failure. In Anusthan, performance of Jap of 1,25,000 Mantras in the prescribed period culminates in desired fulfillment.

Dignity of Human Brain

Regulation of other bodily activities, the right side brain - also called the "philosophical or religious brain, conducts the sensory functions and the sensitive mental processes pertaining to - thinking, imagination, artistic creativity and the soft sentiments like compassion and devotion, intrinsic faith and emotional inclination etc.
If there were sensitive instruments to measure and project the millisecond to millisecond activities of this majestic network then it would have become possible for the scientists to unravel the complete history of one's present and previous lives. It would then have been possible to see in what kinds of Yonis (forms of life) an individual soul had appeared and what were its sinful (papa) actions and what were its morally ecstatic, serene altruist deep (Punya) in the past or the present life. The Sahastrara is like a 'crystal' through which one can get a glimpse of the journey of the soul and retrieve detailed knowledge about the past and the present life. This is the reason why the scriptures of Hindu religion call the Sahastrara as Sutratma - the eternal linkage of the soul.
History has witnessed rare incidents of supernatural memory, depth of knowledge and exceptional talents of humans since the time of yore. Many of these live examples also highlight the eternal connection of the soul with the conscious, unconscious and super-conscious faculties of the mind. Observance of extraordinary potentials of farsightedness, clairvoyance, telepathy and other kinds of supernatural perceptions also gives evidential support to this aspect. Many such cases observed in the past few centuries have been recorded and compiled with authentic reports in some western countries. In his book 'New Frontiers of Mind', Mr. J.B. Rine has sighted many examples of clairvoyance which were analyzed and tested by the neuroscientists and psychologists. Over fifty percent of the partly reported cases were proved to be true. Hundred percent of the cases pertaining to supernatural 'vision' during dreams or in a trancelike state of the mind were found to be true. One such case reported by Mr. Rine is described below.
Mr. Rine's neighbor's wife had once dreamt that her brother, who lived in a distant village, is going to his granary in a horse cart. There he opened his cart and all of a sudden climbed up the scaffold and committed suicide by shooting himself by a revolver. He had then fallen on a heap of chaff nearby. The lady was so frightened by this dream that she got up and asked her husband to immediately start for her brother's village. Her husband went to Mr. Rine's father to borrow his horse cart. The couple reached the village next day early morning. The lady was shocked to find her brother's dead body lying in his granary in exactly the same position as she had seen in the dream.
Another incident of similar kind was published in the above book. This was reported to Mr. Rine by one of his friends, who were a professor. This had happened when the professor's wife was playing a game of bridge in a friend's house. She suddenly felt as if her daughter, whom she had left at home, is in some serious trouble. She wanted to inquire about her little daughter over telephone but had to continue playing cards on her friend's request. But, after a while, she felt so uneasy and mentally disturbed that she left the game and rushed to the phone. A maidservant received the phone…. When the lady asked about her daughter's well being the servant paused for a while and replied 'she is all right'. As her friend insisted to complete the game, she then played for some more time and reached home in the evening. There she learnt that her daughter had had a narrow escape from serious injuries in a car accident.
When the girl (daughter) was going in a car with her father Professor, she was on the back seat peeping through open window…., she lost her balance and was kicked out due to a sudden jerk… Somehow, she got hold of the window glass and was almost hanging outside the speedy car. She was so scared that she could not even scream…! Before her father could realize the mis-happening, the traffic police noticed her and stopped the car within a few minutes. Had there been slight delay, the girl would have slipped down and got crushed in the running traffic. The tragic movements of this accident were exactly those when her mother felt uneasy and panicked about her. The daughter had reached home safely by the time her mother had phoned there. As the child was all right, the maidservant did not tell anything over phone about the incident.
The above mentioned Professor has also reported in Rine's book about his receiving subtle signals from the cosmos when he was a graduate student living a top the hills of Pennsylvania. Such experiences cited in the book reflect the potentials of the subconscious and the unconscious mind.
In the state of dream all the activities of our body are internalized under the control of the ever- active unconscious mind. The truths of the events seen in a dream or experienced subconsciously signify the linkage of brain (mind) with the eternal consciousness of the soul which is inspired by the omnipresent supreme consciousness and is beyond the reach of any sentience. The supernatural experiences associated with different faculties of mind indicate the existence of a supreme source which is absolute and which can never be pound within the limits of time and space. Einstein had accepted the existence of the absolute power of consciousness. He had even attempted proving its eternity through his theory of relativity.
Modern science has not yet been able to elucidate and analyze the activities of the unconscious mind in human brain. As the research in this direction advances in collaboration with that in the fields of subtle sciences, the role of Sahastrara would become clear and recognized as the source of the eternal expression of the soul.
Scientific experiments on rats and monkeys have helped understanding the neurophysiology of their motor control. In human beings, the complexities are so high even at the level of simple physiological activities that much of these auto regulatory mechanisms of the brain still remain the topics of research. Its automatic control of the sensory perception is more complicated. The brain experiences (as pain) the injuries of a leg or any other organ. The eyes weep but the sorrow is felt by the brain (mind). The body moves but it is the brain which worries about the hindrances along the path. The hands use tools but it is the brain which enables them to do so …. Whatever one thinks, does, believe and feels is because of the brain (mind). In essence, the existence of an individual is there because of his brain.

The approach of the Rishis - the perfect scientists of ancient times, had been comprehensive in understanding and using the majestic potentials of human brain. They had focused their research on its subtle faculties - the Mana ( mind) , Buddhi (intellect), Citta (the inherent memory and source of mental tendencies) and Ahamkar (the sense of being - the manifestation of the existence of the soul) . They were able to study all the spiritual and mental aspects of the   brain by realizing the existence, functions and eternal linkage of its subtle entities with the soul. Acquisition of the knowledge of its activities at the physical, physiological, neurological and biochemical levels was an offshoot of their realizations of its subtle activities. They were able to attain supernatural talents and make use of the body beyond the barriers of time and space. These accomplishments remain unparalleled in human history.

Controlling the Physical Body: Asans

"Asans" or "easy postures" are a scientific system of exercises developed thousands of years ago by Yogis. They not only maintain the health of the body by stimulating circulation, limbering the joints, toning the muscles, and massaging the internal organs, but they also help to calm and control the mind.
Yoga asans are totally different from vigorous or strenuous exercise; in Asans, glow, gentle movements accompanied by deep breathing is alternated with periods of complete immobility which creates a deep relaxation in the muscles and nerves. During Asans, vital energy is increased rather than spent; and thus, by regular practice, the yogi accumulates a storehouse of internal energy to be used by the mind for the attainment of higher consciousness. By learning to quiet the nerves and bring the body to a total standstill for extended periods of time, one develops control over the muscular and nervous systems, and attains the physical equipoise necessary for long meditation.
But the most important effect of Asans is on the endocrine glands. As we have seen, the endocrine glands have a profound influence on our emotions and on the state of our consciousness. The subtle pressures of yoga Asans on the various endocrine glands affect the hormonal secretions and bring about emotional balance and mental peace. For instance, in the Hare Pose (Sha'shaurga'Sana), the crown of the head is repeatedly pressed against the ground, which exerts a delicate pressure on the pineal gland. By the repeated practice of this Asan, one develops patience and tranquility of mind.
Thus, yoga Asans are not simply physical exercises for health, beauty and long life, as is popularly believed; they are an important part of an integrated physical and psychic practice to refine the body and prepare the mind for higher consciousness.

What we Eat?
The physical body is not something different and separate from the mind- it is the mind's outermost layer and the base for meditation. In yoga, it is called the "arnnamaya Kosa" or "food layer" because it is composed of the food we eat. As the mind becomes more subtle through meditation, the body must also become more subtle as well otherwise the parallelism between the psychic and physical layers of our being will be lost and our progress will be retarded. Thus, yogis have always emphasized the importance of the vegetarian diet to maintain the purity of the cells of the body, just as the practice of meditation is purifying the layers of the mind.
More and more doctors and nutrition experts are coming to realize that compared to vegetables, meat is a highly toxic source of protein - "50% impure" according to the Encyclopedia Britannica - and may ultimately cause many diseases including gastric and kidney trouble, high blood pressure and even cancer. Societies which consume primarily vegetarian diets, like the Hunzas of Pakistan, Peruvian Indian tribes, or Seventh Day Adventish lower inence of disease and a longer life span than meat-eating populations. Vegetable proteins have been proven to be as nourishing as meat protein, and without any of its harmful effects on the body.

According to yoga, meat-eating has an ill effect on the mind and personality as well, for our minds are subtly agitated by the ingestion of animal flesh. As Albert Einstein - himself a vegetarian - said, "it is my view that the vegetarian manner of living, by its purely physical effect on the human temperament, would most beneficially influence the lot of mankind."

Control of body and mind are different

Now let us endeavor to enter the domain of mind, examine the reality of soul and experience its existence with the help of paranormal powers inherent in the depths of the mind. All seekers throughout the world have been adopting the same methodology. For understanding elementary facts about any subject, there is no alternative to application of penetrating intelligence inherent in the discovery of the reality of self world also require the aid of illumined intelligence. The science of spirituality calls this process as Yoga.
There are many disciplines of Yoga. Some amongst these are meant for health and physical fitness. Others are for spiritual Sadhana. However, good health is an essential prerequisite for entering the path of this Sadhana. The higher disciplines of Yoga comprise Pratyahar (Inward withdrawal of mind and senses from their objects), Dharana (concentration), Dhyan (meditation) and Samadhi (state of Trance) successively. Spiritual seekers also follow many other disciplines - like, Yam, Niyam, Asan, Pranayama etc. The Hath Yogis carry out procedures of Neti, Dhoti, Vasti, Vajroli and other exercise for physical fitness and control. Other have their own specific methods for physical fitness. All of these are basically meant to keep the body healthy so that problems of the body do not create obstacles in course of mind control exercises. The seekers are advised to maintain good health with simple exercises. In today's environment, it is neither advisable nor necessary to follow the traditional ancient physical exercises of Yoga, involving intricate postures.
It would be unfair to ask a person living in a polluted environment of a city to carry out intense Pranayama practices. Such difficult exercises were prescribed for those seekers of yore who lived in the unpolluted environment of the hills, took only fresh fruits for meals, and used unpolluted water from the mountain springs or streams and observed continence. There is no logic in asking a frog to wear a horseshoe. It would kill the frog. Today there is general awareness about the norms for healthy living and these should be strictly adhered to. If there is some disease, an expert medical practitioner of the discipline may be consulted. For our present objective, however, no such physical standards of health are necessary for which one may require prolonged treatment or prior training. Normal health and a relaxed, happy attitude are the only two prerequisites.

Preparation for meditation
Choose a quite place. It is advisable to find a place from of things which may provoke fear or distraction. Since it is not always possible to find an ideal, totally noiseless place, as far as possible, a place having least noise may be chosen. It is preferable to have a fixed place for daily meditation. If it is not possible to find an ideal place, that is, in a forest, on a hill or bank of a river, select a small chamber, where mind is not likely to be distracted. Be seated comfortably, keeping the back straight. It is not necessary to stiffen the neck and chest or to cross the legs, since it might induce discomfort in parts of the body, which will repeatedly send signals to the mind, disturbing its equanimity. Let the body be totally loosened, so that all muscles become relaxed. Let each part of the body feel tension-free, peaceful and at complete rest. A comfortable chair is best suited for this posture. Lying flat on the bed, face upwards, would also serve the purpose, but the head has to be raised a little. Alternatively, one may sit with the back resting against a wall, with a cushion behind the back. Whatever be the sitting posture, the bodu should be loosened like a ball of cotton, so that there does not arise any need for changing positions or adjusting the support for comfort. However, care should be taken to adopt a posture in which, on reaching the state of deep meditation, there is no likelihood of topping.
Keep sitting in this way for some time. Let the body feel restful and mind at peace. In the initial stages, it would require somewhat greater effort but later, with practice, the seeker finds it easy to relax irrespective of the place and environment. A word of caution! This exercise is not meant for simply creating a state of relaxation, in which one generally reaches a state of drowsiness, begins to daydream or flies high on the wings of imagination. Remember! This preparation for meditation has a specific purpose. It is required to be practiced as directed, since it has been created deliberately for a specific objective.
Later, with practice, this state of mind in meditation would become a state of natural awareness (consciousness) and would not require any conscious effort to attain. In difficult situations, of life giving rise to fear, misery, pain, apprehension or stress, such as equanimity of mind would become activated without any conscious effort and the seeker would pass through the crisis in an attitude of calm confidence and peace.

Soul is the nucleus of your world
Now in the above state of meditation collect all your thoughts on the nature of "I". Think absolutely nothing about any external person, place, thing or event. Conceptualize, that factually your soul (the real self, 'I') is an independent entity; that it is infinitely powerful, indestructible and indivisible. That it is the central star around which your personal world, ie. Everything related to you, is continuously revolving (is in perpetual cyclic motion) like the planets of the solar system orbiting around the sun. Conceptualize the inner-self as the nucleus of your world, brightly illuminated like The Sun. Resolutely creative such imagery in your mind with the help of the creative nature of your mind. In your mental horizon, establish your soul as a centrally located stationary central star, around which everything related to you is perpetually revolving. Assure yourself that these things around you are dependent on you but that you are not dependent on them and that, though you are providing them energy for their movement; nevertheless they have their separate existence and in no way belong to you. After persistently practicing in this way, in a few days, such awareness will become deep-rooted.
Do not think the picture you are conceptualizing is fallacious or fanciful. It is an exercise to let you appreciate that laws of motion in nature are universally applicabl3e, as much to the living beings as to inert matter. As a matter of fact, each cell/particle, living as well non-living is perpetually in a state of rotation around some nucleus. In the solar system, there are planets revolving around the sun, and the latter too is circumambulating some other invisible nucleus of energy in the universe. The nucleus of energy in our heart makes the blood circulate around the body. It is the natural property of everything tangible or intangible to follow its particular law of cyclic motion. Sound, natural forces, ideologies and atoms of various elements are always moving forward following their particular rotational trajectories. The natural law of motion governing periodical cyclic changes is working everywhere - all around us. (life and activities of followers of particular ideologies revolve around the protagonists of these ideologies) As mentioned above, the soul of an individual being is a nucleus of energy and elements of all natural systems living or non-living, which are related to the individual, move around this central force. In other words, their actions and reactions are indirectly influenced by this nucleus (soul) within a time-space paradigm. On becoming thoroughly convinced about the reality and universality of these natural phenomena, you will notice an unusual transformation in your outlook. You will clearly perceive yourself existing as a nucleus of energy acting on everything related to you. You will find that your world and all material objects related to you such as your house, your car, garment, ornaments, money and property are not an integral part of you; that these have separate existence of their own; that though you are living amongst these, these are alien to you.

(Note: This concept may be further understood in this way. Whatever be the dynamism of interactions between the various animate and inanimate systems related to a person, the driving force behind it is his mind. It is the mind of the individual which created and shapes his world. Further, the mind, as we have discussed earlier is only a tool of the Inner-Self i.e. soul. Hence the soul has been referred to as the central star of the personal world. Besides, as, in spite of being the source of energy to the entire solar system, the sun itself remains unaffected by the dynamics in its system, the soul of a person (not his body) remains an independent entity, uninfluenced by the activities in one's personal world. In this way, the real Self and the associated world, though related, exist independently. An off-quoted classic analogy is the lotus leaf floating on water being in water yet not submerged in it).

Capacity of the Hormones in Human Body

Chorine Helen's "Occult Anatomy" throws more light on the activities of these ductless glands. He has analyzed their effects on human psychology and shown the possibility of their connection with the spiritual powers. While discussing the questions of 'what is the relation of these glands with the sensory nerves; or, what their anatomical positions are? Etc, the author argues that - "the drastic variations caused by certain chemicals hormones in the state and function of the body and mind cannot be based on some physicochemical reactions only. These astonishing activities are subtle in nature and appear to be governed by the latent effects of super-consciousness. The existence and wonderful functions of these glands thus seem to be direct manifestations of a divine power."
The anatomical details on the size, location and the (hormonal) secreting functions of the principal glands -- Pituitary, Pineal, thyroid, Parathyroid, Thymus, Adrenal, Gonads, and Spleen can be found in any comprehensive book on anatomy and physiology. Findings on new effects of the earlier studied glands and the discoveries of new glands-hormones are frequently reported in the corresponding research journals. Research on neurohormonal chemistry is also growing at a rapid pace and newer results are being obtained and reported almost every month. Detailed discussions of these are neither feasible nor desirable here. It would suffice to note that these glands secreted hormones reach specific points in the body and the brain along with the blood and create wonderful effects. This, in normal conditions results in efficient maintenance of orderly functions of the body and mind. Even a little imbalance or disharmony in the level, stimulation or activities of these 'regulator chemicals' often causes irreparable damage or deformation in the normal growth or health of the physical and mental system of life.
Some people are dwarf, some grow tall up to exceptional and inconvenient limits..; some suffer obsession and some are bony; some youths become impotent while some wander under the thralldom of excessive concupiscence in old age too.; some bear the 'curses' of dull mind and some are 'gifted' with extraordinary brilliance and intellectual power; some over-eat, some hardly eat anything…..; some people can work round-the-clock every day having almost no sleep for several consecutive days but some others, on the contrary, need sound and long sleeps as natural requirement for creativity in the awakened state…… etc - all these diversities and abnormalities are caused by hormonal variations in general.
These disorders are also found as responsible for sudden attacks of certain maladies, disability of specific motor or sensory activity, excitation or numbness of some parts of the body or of some mental faculties, etc. Despite this knowledge and multidimensional research on hormones, no specific method or mechanism has yet been discovered to harmonize the secretions or to rectify the imbalance and restore it to normal hormonal levels.

Oral or intravenous medicines have hardly any effect on the hormone secreting and related activities, in vivo. A surgeon's sophisticated tools also have no reach there. Attempts of controlling a hormonal activity or regularizing its normal concentration by medication, or surgical operations are extremely risky, as they often perturb the fine-tuned natural functions of the tiny glands and/or disrupt the efficacy of hormonal effects and thereby give rise to more severe abnormalities and disabilities.

Beyond the Subconscious Mind

Most people in the experiments went only this far, piercing through the barriers of their conscious minds by the artificial means of externally turning off their sense organs. They could not penetrate through the subconscious realm, crowded with long-stored internal sensations. A few, however, were able to go beyond and their experiences in those warm water tanks often changed their lives.
After their conscious minds were stilled for lack of external stimulation, they were able to calm also the restless internal wandering of the subconscious, and touched the super-conscious level of the mind. They experienced that state of ineffable bliss and oneness, like that described by the saints and mystics of all ages seeking union with their true Selves, with God. One person said that he felt as if he were "the center of the universe."

The seekers; stilling the senses
Throughout history, there have been individuals who have not been satisfied with the experiences of the conscious and subconscious layers, as most people are and have searched for a way to go beyond - Yogis, religious saints, alchemists, Sufis, primitive medicine men and shamans, psychics and mystics. They have used a variety of strange and often painful methods to transcend the sense level of experience, but all these methods have one element in common; they all attempt to still the senses and penetrate the restless, shallow layers of the mind to attain the infinite glory within.

Monks turned their backs on the noise and stimulation of the world and sought "sensory deprivation" in the solitude of Himalayan mountain peaks or jungle caves.  Saints and prophets of all religions controlled their tongue by long fasting and their vocal cords by long periods of absolute silence. They practiced celibacy, and remained immobile for many hours, absorbed in internal prayer and meditation.

Be Blessed by the Yug Shakti

Age after Age, the Adi Shakti Gayatri descends on the earth as thy savior in different incarnations. Maha Shakti Durga, Maha Kali, Mahalaksmi, Mahasaraswati, Sita, Mata are all its manifestations. Great souls also come into being as envoys of the divine power with a ll its incarnations. The Parivajakas of Buddha, the first Disciples of Christ, the Dharmacharyas of Chanakya, the Satyagrahi followers of Gandhi were all the "messengers" the 'instruments' of the different experiments, the different expressions of this Maha Shakti in the Modern Age.
Today, in the critical phase of Kaliyuga - that appears to be leading to absolute decline and global devastation, there is an alarming need to emancipate people's mind from the deadly influence of Kaliyuga in the subtle world. Spiritual refinement and reorientation of the maligned and perverted minds is the call of the present era……..
All of the spiritual elements and seeds of divinity that educe thy light in the Sadhak's  inner self are immanent in the twenty-four distinctive syllables of the Gayatri Mantra. These can effectuate divine purification and righteous orientation of the Sadhak's heart, mind and intellect. This has been experienced and unanimously advocated by the Rishis, Munis, Sages, Yogis and spiritually enlightened great personalities since the time of yore. The divine incarnations in human forms too have been the devotees of the Adi Shakti Gayatri…..
Sadbuddhi and Sadgyana - spiritual wisdom and pure knowledge, are the perennial elements of divine elevation of human life. In the present era, when the devil's demons have universally shrouded human mind and intellect, these appear to be the sole silver lines of hope and remedy. The grace of Gaya tri - the Goddess of Sadbuddhi and Sadgyana, is therefore utmost prayed. The super science of Gayatri encompasses complete knowledge of the welfare of all living beings. Gaya tri Sadhana bestows divine enlightenment and glorious progress of the present life and the lives beyond. There is no Tapa-Sadhana equivalent to this pre- eminent spiritual endeavor. The enormous po tency of the Gayatri Mantra isn't magical or imaginary. It is indeed a super scientific effect of the immense power of Sabda and the subliminal spiritual force of the inner sentiments. Everybody - whether a believer or a non-believer, could benefit from the scientifically endeavored Japa-Sadhana or Gayatri Mantra.
In the present era, the Gayatri Shakti has descended as Yug Shakti to ruin the reign of the devil of Durbuddhi that has enslaved human mind and is the root cause of all the man-made problems and the untoward detrimental developments on all fronts of life. Likewise the other faculties of the Vedic Culture, the great science and philosophy of Gayatri Vidya too got shrouded in the mist of antiquity and ignorance with the advent of Kaliyuga in the modern age. There were hardly any texts or authentic commentaries available on this deep knowledge. Whatever was there, was too complicated and incomplete and beyond the comprehension of the common people.
Some ego-driven scholars and some fake 'savants' of Vedic knowledge had created such confusion and distortion for their selfish motives that no aspirant of true knowledge could dare decipher this Vidya or attempt Gayatri Sadhana. Illogical interpretation and misconceptions like - only Brahmans could practice Gayatri Upasana (moreover, the word "Brahman" wrongly propagated as they by caste)", women should not know or chant the Gayatri Mantra. The Gayatri Mantra is a secret, only to be told by a 'guru' in the ears of the 'deserving' disciple", Gayatri Vadya is cursed and prohibited, etc. -were quite common among the masses until past few decades. These baseless and blind convictions had maligned and damaged the pearl of invaluable knowledge and ultimate welfare.
Vedmurti Taponishtha Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya had sharpened and revived the divine glow of this buried diamond by his peerless, ardent Tapa-Sadhana and angelic spirituality. Rishi Bhagirathi's Tapa had brought the holy Ganges on the earth. The devout endeavors of Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya enabled the epochal descent and unalloyed flow (comprehensive decipheration) of the Ganges of the super knowledge for the emancipation of the world from the smog of Kaliyuga.
He scrupulously studied, researched and himself experimented on Gayatri Mantra through the paramount dedicated Sadhanas of Gayatri. His life was a remarkable evidence of the authentication of his absolute knowledge of the super science of Gayatri. The divine luminescence of Gayatri Vidya and super mental attainments of the spiritual force of Gayatri Shakti was visible in every impulse of his thoughts and sentiments and every expression of his conduct and deeds.
He presented the great knowledge of Gayatri Vidya, Upasana-Sadhana and the science of Gayatri Mantra in a thorough comprehensive and eloquent style. He was indeed a Rishi of this era (yug Rishi) whose sagacious writings, lucid discourses and adept practical guidance enabled the true light of Gayatri reach all the men and women - the illiterates as well as the educated ones, the atheists and the theists, the rich and poor, the healthy, mighty and the weaker or discarded ones, without any barrier, Gayatri Shakti was thus incarnated and Yug Shakti. This unfolded the dawn of resurrection of the divine cultural values and bright future for the world.

Millions of people across the globe have been blessed by the Diksa or Gayatri Mantra by Yug R ishi Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya. Gayatri pariwar is a family-like ensemble of these dedicated Sadhak of high moralities, who are sincerely transacting their worldly duties along with the devoted Upasana-Sadhana or Gayatri and are also contributing to the altruist constructive mission of Yug Nirman.

Awakening of Kundalini by Gayatri Sadhana

There are several organs (energy centers) in the human body. These extra-ordinary organs are vulnerable and delicate, as they are vital centers of dormant spiritual energies. If they are awakened, a person can be transformed. He can be flooded with such marvelous divine energies that people will stand amazed before his presence.
Spine is the foundation and the spinal cord encased within it is the main vital part of the body. Spine consists of thirty-three small dislike bones known as vertebrae which contain divine energies. The spinal cord represents thirty-three deities, because the powers which are centered in them are found within these thirty-three vertebrae. The powers of eight Vasus, twelve Aditya, eleven Rudras, Indra and Prajapati are foundation seed from in the spinal-cord, which is enclosed in the spine.
According to physiology there are several channels in this hollow spinal-cord, three of which, namely, Ida, Pingala and Sushumna, are the main ones. They cannot be seen by the naked eye because they have no physical form and are related to the subtle world. In fact, this is like invisible flow of electric current. Electricity is produced when positive and negative currents meet. Ida is called negative or Chandra Nadi and Pingala is called positive or Surya Nadi. Broadly speaking, they can be called cold and hot currents. When both these currents meet, a third current, known as Sushmna is produced. Ganga and Yamuna meet in Pragyag. By this conjunction a third invisible (subtle) current, which is known as Sharaswati, is formed. The confluence of these three rivers is known as Triveni. In the spinal cord also, the meeting of Ida and Pingala creates the third current Sushumna and this is known as Triveni in spiritual terms. This Triveni is connected to the top center of the brain, known as Brahmarandra or Sahasra Kamal, at one end, and to the base of the spine in the middle of the genital area at the other end.
Three subtle currents, which are known as Vajra, Chittrani and Brahmanadi flow of Sushumna. Just as by cutting the stem of a plantain tree one finds layers of bark one after the other, so also there is Vajra inside Sushumna Chitrani inside Vajra and Brahamnadi is the vital point and center of divine energy and there are layers, one after the other, over it meant for its protection.
When this Brahamnadi reaches the top of the head in brahmarandhra it spreads all-around in thousands of branches. This portion is known as Sahasradal Kamal (lotus flower having a thousand petals). In omamental language it has been described as Vishnu's bed of Sheshnag (thousand headed cobra). In the statues and pictures of incarnations like Buddha, a special cluster of curly hair can be noticed on their head. This is nothing but an artistic picturisation of Sahasradal Kamal which is connected to subtle energies pervading the universe. Sound waves are thrown and picked up from the space by the filaments of radio transmitters. Sahasrar Kamal is just like aerial/antennae of brain. It picks up infinite energy waves of the Omniscient God from the invisible subtle cosmos. When a hungry python awakens, it takes a deep breath and by its terrific power attracts into its grip, birds flying in the sky and swallows them. Similarly, sheshnag, with its thousands-hooded head, which is also known as Sahasrar Kamal, attracts divine powers from the infinite space. Just as hissing of an angry python makes the surrounding atmosphere poisonous to a certain extent, a person with an enlightened Sahasrar Kamal (brain) emits strong waves of emotions which can influence living beings not only in this but also in other worlds. American broadcasts relayed by a powerful transmitter can be heard in Nepal. The flow of emotional currents from a powerful Sahasrar can move the subtle layers of this world as well as other realms. Coming now to the lower end, Brahamnadi which is subtle-most in sushumna coils around a hexagonal blackish atom at the end of the spinal cord. To fasten a thatched roof, holes are made in the wall and the roof is tied with pegs by rope. In the same way by fastening Brahamnadi with the hexagonal blackish atom, arrangement has been made to fasten the human body with the vital energy of Pran.
In ornamental language this hexagonal atom has been described as Koorma because it resembles a tortoise. According to Koorma-Puran, this earth rests on God in the form of Koorma. According to another story, the earth rests on the hood of Sheshnag. The basis of this story is that shape of Brahmanadi coiled around the Koorma, sustaining life. If Brahamnadi abandons its base, human life will come to an end instantly.
The location of interlocking of Brahamnadi with Koorma is known, in spiritual language as Kundalini. It coils three and half times around the Koorma with its mouth downwards. It is for this reason that in marriage ceremony the couple takes three and half or four rounds, with their head bowed down, because the sound foundation of building future life of the couple is as important as the meeting of Brahamnadi with Koorma of Kundalini is essential in uniting the body with the Pran.
It almost amounts to groping in darkness to understand perfectly the importance, power and unity of Kundalini. An atom has become a great puzzle these days for the research scholars of physics. The world has seen the miracle of the process of breaking it in the form of devastating atom bomb. Several of its other catastrophic and constructive aspects are yet to be discovered. According to sit Arthur, "nothing will remain impossible for man if he happens to have full knowledge about the atomic power and its use. He will be able to turn the Sun into pieces and transform it into dust particles and will be able to create objects or living beings in an arbitrary manner. He will have such mechanical devices with him, with the help of which this earth will become a global village. Any person will be able to go anywhere within a moment and will take from or give anything to anybody. He will be able to talk with persons living in distant countries as if two friends are sitting and grossing together." When the power of an atom of inert matter is so great and so amazing it is difficult to imagine how far more powerful a spark of Pran (vital energy) is?
There are descriptions and evidence about Yogis possessing amazing powers. Several tales are told about almost unbelievable divine powers (Siddhis) or Yogis. But there is no question of any disbelief and astonishment for persons who are familiar with the power of an inert atom as well of sparks of Pran (vital energy). Just as scientists of every country today are busy in doing research on physical atom, the spiritual scientists, Rishis who had realized the truth, had conducted deep research in ancient times on living atoms in human body in seed form. Kundalini center is the most suitable location for breaking and uniting two living atoms and for transforming them, because living (Chaitanya) atoms at all other places in the body are round and smooth, whereas in Kundalini I this pair clings together. In uranium and plutonium the interlocking of atoms is in an oblique, irregular manner so that their breaking-up is easy as compared to the atoms of other metals. In the same manner it is easier to regulate the movement of living atoms located in Kundalini, according to one's desire. Research about Kundalini was, done with the same precision in ancient times as scientists are doing these days in respect of material atoms. As a result of these researches Rishis had discovered several secret laws of super-nature which are known today as miracles of Yoga.
Madam Blavatsky had undertaken considerable research in respect of the power of Kundalini. According to her -"Kundalini is an all pervading subtle electric power, more powerful than physical electricity. Its moment is oblique like that of a serpent and so its shape is said to be like a serpent. The speed of light is one Lac eighty-five thousand miles per second but that of Kundalini is three Lac forty-five miles per second." Western scientists call it as "spirit-fire" or "serpent power." Sir John Woodroff has done a detailed analysis in this respect.
Kundalini can be called a deeply buried trove of secret energies. For keeping valuable jewellery a safe is kept hidden in an unknown place and it is locked by several locks so that the wealth kept in it may not be touched by any unauthorized persons. The key of these locks are entrusted to competent persons who alone can, in case of necessity open them and have access to its contents.
The locks which are put on Kundalini are known as six Chakras. Human soul reaches the Kundalini after penetrating through these Chakras. Then alone can it master the hidden energy and derive benefit from it. Ordinarily, Kundalini of all the people remains dormant in a helter-skelter manner. But when it is awakened it leaves its place and seeks an entry into that lok (realm) which is the store house of spiritual powers. There are several huge treasures hidden under the ground since times immemorial. A serpent sits in a serpentine pose on the mouth of these treasures and guards them. Dev-lok also is a similar treasure on th mouth of which there is a hexagonal stone (Koorma-shila) around which this deadly serpent, Kundalini is coiling. This Sarpini sits waiting for a deserving person to uncoil it. As soon as such a person reaches close to it, instead of harming or obstructing him it gives way to him and its function ends here.
While throwing light on the advantages of awakening Kundalini an experienced Sadhak has written that, "by the grace of Bhawati Kundalini the Sadhak becomes endowed with all the virtues. He attains all the skills and divine powers (Siddhis) without making any effort. Such a person remains perfectly healthy and strong even when he is one hundred years old. He devotes his life in the service of the almighty God and ultimately leaves his body voluntarily according to the will of God, while doing service to humanity. A person possessing the power of Kundalini is completely fearless and lives happily. Bhagwati showers full grace on him and he always feels Her patronage and protection, Mother's voice, "don't be afraid, I am standing behind you", always echoes in his ears. There is no doubt that by the influence of Kundalini, a person's vision becomes divine and he becomes all-powerful and happy."

Sahasradal lying scattered in the brain (Brahmarandra), also normally remains dormant link Kundalini. Despite having such priceless equipments and treasures, man ordinarily remains poor, weak, mean and insignificant and leads a life like an insect by becoming slave of sensuousness and lustfulness. But when he gets acquainted with these equipment and treasures, knows how to use them wisely and exercises control over them, he inherits all the competence and powers of Almighty God. Yoga-Shastras are full of interesting and detailed discussions about the advantages of awakening Kundalini. Everything in the world can be attained by awakening the power of Kundalini. Nothing remains unattainable for a person so awakened.

Attainment of Divine Wisdom Through Gayatri Sadhana

Gayatri is the mantra which imparts true wisdom. It inspires the mind, intellect inner psyche and emotions of the devotee towards the righteous path. its Sadhana helps in progressive growth of righteous (sat) elements. When the Sadhak concentrates on the meaning of this mantra he realizes that the supreme prosperity and the greatest success in life is to attain true wisdom. When he gets fully convinced about the true aim of life, he single-minded starts his self-effort towards this goal. This aspiration creates ever expanding vibrations in the universal realm which attracts and assimilates wave of righteous thoughts, emotions and inspirations pervading the subtle atmosphere. The magnetic power of thoughts is well-known. Thoughts attract thoughts of similar kind scattered in the mental universe with the result that powerful eternal thoughts and spiritual attainments of living and past illumined persons start accumulating spontaneously within the Sadhak as a divine boon and his accumulated capital of such thoughts goes on increasing.
The effect of this influx of righteousness (satogun) in the body and mind is amazing. This is not visible to the naked eye nor can it be understood from purely physical point of view. But those who are endowed with the occult knowledge of the working of the inner being know it well that decrease in the elements of tam and raj and increase in sat is almost similar to the steady process of elimination of disease producing toxins, viruses and germs from the body and replacing them with health-giving rejuvenating cells. True, the process will not be instantly visible, but there can be no doubt that it will have miraculous effect on health in due course. Rejuvenation of body is a scientifically proved phenomenon. Whether this benefit is a divine gift or it is due to human efforts is a matter on which opinion may differ but it is certain that Gayatri Sadhana increases virtues in the inner psyche of the Sadhak and simultaneously throws out the vices and impurities. This results in internal transformation of the Sadhak. There is no use in entering into the controversy whether the advantage accrued is an individual attainment or a divine boon. No work, whatsoever, can be accomplished without the grace of God and so it may be said that all that happens is due to Divine grace.

With increase in sat elements in the body there is significant change in physical activities. The constant turbulence of sense organs steadily calms down. Bad habits like greediness for delicious dishes; craving for eating articles of different tastes; desire to eat more and repeatedly, irrespective of any consideration whether what is being eaten is eatable or not; dislike for satvik foods and liking for pungent, spicy, sweet, gross, indigestible items of food are gradually reversed. The Sadhak develops liking for light, easily digestible, juicy simple foods and shuns luxurious, tamsik food. Like-wise, sexual urge is restrained and moderated on account of righteous thoughts and the mind hardly gets an opportunity to get engrossed in passion, debauchery and intense sexual desire. Faith is developed in observance of brahmacharya which helps in increasing vitality. Sex and taste are the two main sensual urges which on being controlled can promote preservation of health and physical wellbeing. Coupled with these restraints, other daily routines like physical work, sleep, awakening, cleanliness, simplicity etc, also get regulated with the growth of satogun. Such a pious way of life automatically leads to vibrant health and longevity.

At the heart of the Mahabharata

Dear brothers, from today I shall be talking to you about Shrimad Bhagavad Gita. The bond between the Gita and me transcends reason. I have received more nourishment from the Gita than my body has from my mother's milk. There is little place for ratiocination in a relationship of loving tenderness. Moving beyond the intellect, I therefore soar high in the vast expanse of the Gita on the twin wings of faith and experimentation. Most of the times, I live in the ambience of the Gita. The Gita is my life breath. I am as if afloat on the surface of this ocean of nectar when I am talking about the Gita with other, and when alone, I dive deep in to this ocean and rest there. Henceforth, every Sunday, I shall be giving a talk on the teaching of the Gita, who is verily our mother.
The Gita has been set in the Mahabharata. Standing in the middle of the great epic like a lighthouse, it illuminates the whole of the epic. Placed between six parvas (sections of the text) of the epic on the side and twelve on the other, its message is being unfolded in the middle of the battlefield with seven divisions of the pandava army on one side and eleven divisions of the kaueava army on the other.
The Mahabharata and the Ramayana are our national epics. The characters depicted therein have become an inseparable part of our lives. Since time immemorial, life in India has remained under the spell of the characters like Rama, Sita, Dharmaraj, Draupadi, Bhishma, Hanuman etc. The characters in other epics of the people in this way. The Mahabharata and the Ramayana are thus undoubtedly unique and wonderful works. The Ramayana is an endearing and enchanting ethical poem, while the Mahabharata is a comprehensive treatise on the working of society. In the Mahabharata Vyasa has, in one hundred thousand verses, sketched the lives, personalities and characters of innumerable individuals with consummate skill. The Mahabharata vividly brings out the fact that none but God is completely faultless and good, and also that none can be said to be evil personified. For instance, it points out faults even of moral giants like Bhishma and Dharmaraj, and virtues in the characters like karma and Duryodhan, who had strayed from the path of righteousness. The Mahabharata tells us that human life is like a fabric woven with back and white threads-threads of good and evil. With perfect detachment vyasa, the great sage, graphically deposits before us the complex reality of the vast web of the worldly life. Because of Vyasa's great library skill in depicting life with detachment and high moral purpose the Mahabharata has become a veritable gold-mine. Everybody is free as much as he wants.

Vyasa wrote such a great epic, but did he have something of his own to tell? Has he told his special message somewhere? Which is the place in the place in the epic where we find him in a state of Samadhi? One comes across in the Mahabharata a vast number of dense thickets of philosophies and preaching, but has vyasa given anywhere the essence of all whole epic? Yes, he has. Vyasa has presented it in the form of the Gita. The Gita is his principal message and the repository of his wisdom. It is be-cause of the Gita that the Lord has extolled him as the among the sages, as His own manifestation among the sages. The Gita has been accorded the status of an Upanishad. Lord Krishna has an, if distilled the essence of all the Upanishads and offered it in the form of the Gita to the whole world. Arjuna's despondency provided only an occasion. Almost every idea and thought necessary for the blossoming of life can be found in the Gita. That is why the wise have rightly called it the encyclopedia of dharma. The Gita although small in size, is the principal text of Hiduism.
